RÉAL Genealogy (1585-Current)

Origins of the Réal Name and Family 

 The origins of the both the  "RÉAL" and "DelSARTE" families can be traced to Solesmes, France. Both families were united through marriage twice. 

Solesmes is a village in the Solesmes commune in the Nord department in northern France.


Abbreviated Genealogy 


There is genealogical information on the RÉAL family that dates from about 1585 with Michel  RÉAL, Echevin.

1) Jacques RÉAL(1631-1684) who married in Solesmes Jacqueline DOTTE in 1658  and issued Georges RÉAL (1662-1712) and Pierre RÉAL (1668-1731)

Jacques  RÉAL married a second time on May 26, 1676 to Martine DEMARCQ (1651-1721)


2) Georges RÉAL married Catherine BAUDIN an issued Pierre Joseph RÉAL (1692-1743)

3) Pierre Joseph RÉAL married Marie Marguerite de VILLERS and issued Pierre Joseph (1717-1789), Marie-Anne (1731-1791), and Jean-Michel (1733-1776). 

4) Jean Michel REAL (1733-1776) married  in 1754 Anne Marguerite DOUAY (1728-1762) and issued Jean Baptiste RÉAL (1755-1808)

5) Jean Baptiste RÉAL (1755-1808)  married in 1779 to  Marie Barbe Joseph LASNE (1759-1794) and issued Jean Baptiste RÉAL II (1785-1751)

6) Jean Baptiste RÉAL II married  in 1808 Thérèse Sophie DelSARTE (1786-1851)) and issued Louis Henri RÉAL (1824-1885)


7) Louis Henri RÉAL (1824-1885), medical doctor and Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur  married in 1808 to Camille DESSE (1831-1857) and issued Désiré-Louis  RÉAL  (1852-1909)

8)  Désiré Louis  REAL sculptor and Chevalier Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur married in 1887  Marie Magdeleine-Blanche-Geneviève DelSarte (1853-1927), the daughter of François DelSARTE and Rosine-Charlotte ANDRIEN of the House of Philippy Bucelly d'Estrées and issued [Source 1]

Réal del Sarte Branch (1887-Present)

With the marriage of Désiré Louis Réal and Magdeleine DelSarte, the family adopted the combined name of REAL DEL SARTE. This was apparent in the funeral card of Désiré Louis in 1909. 
 
Désiré Louis Réal was a noted sculptor and  a Captain of Infantry in the Territorial Army (Officier d’État Major Territorial).  He began his military career on March 10, 1873 and promoted to captain in 1895 (Source 3).

 On July 11, 1903, Désiré Louis was appointed Chevalier of the Legion of Honor. He also received the Médaille d'Encouragement au Bien. Désiré Louis died on January 13, 1909 at the age of 56. The Requiem Mass took place at the parish church of Saint François de Sales (Source 3)

The Réal del Sarte Coat of Arms


After Maxime RÉAL del SARTE, the family has made use of the coat of arms of the House of Philippy Bucelly d'Estrées, Barons d'Estrées. The Réal del Sarte family are descendants of Gabrielle Constance (April 14, 1782 -November 20, 1854) who was the daughter of  Albert  Philippy de Bucelly du Tronquoy, baron d' Estrées (1745-1808) and Catherine GEORGIA (1753-1810). She married the musician and professor at the Royal Music School of France, Martin-Joseph ADRIEN.

2. Yves RÉAL del SARTE (1891-1979) , composer. Married the Countess Berthe GAIGNERON JOLLIMON de MAROLLES (1903-1993) and issued.

b. Géneviève Réal del Sarte (1933-1984) married Hubert- Pierre-Marie MARTY (1936-2013) and issued.

c. Christian Réal del Sarte (1935-1958) Died in Algeria.in 1958. He was a Sub-Lieutenant and  member of the  6e Régiment de Parachutistes Coloniaux. No issue. MORT POUR LA FRANCE



d. Olivier Réal del Sarte (1944) married Genevieve PASQUIER and issued. 


3. Serge RÉAL del SARTE (1892-1917), student of fine arts and hero of World War I. No issue. He died in Word War I. 




4. André RÉAL del SARTE (1893-1965) , painter. Married Marguerite CROISSANDEAU (1898) and issued.


a) Roselyne (1926-2014) married Jacques BRENOT and issued

b) Jean-Loup (1929-200) married Solange VALLANCIEN and issued


5. Geneviève RÉAL del SARTE (1896-1974) painter. Married André BOUTS (1892-1985),  Chevalier de de la Légion d'honneur and issued.
