The origins of the both the "RÉAL" and "DelSARTE" families can be traced to Solesmes, France. Both families were united through marriage twice.Solesmes is a village in the Solesmes commune in the Nord department in northern France.

With the marriage of Désiré Louis Réal and Magdeleine DelSarte, the family adopted the combined name of REAL DEL SARTE. This was apparent in the funeral card of Désiré Louis in 1909.
Désiré Louis Réal was a noted sculptor and a
Captain of Infantry in the Territorial Army (Officier d’État Major
Territorial). He began his military career on March 10, 1873 and
promoted to captain in 1895 (Source 3).
On July 11, 1903, Désiré Louis
was appointed Chevalier of the Legion of Honor. He also received the Médaille
d'Encouragement au Bien. Désiré Louis died on January 13, 1909 at the age
of 56. The Requiem Mass took place at the parish church of Saint François de
Sales (Source 3)

The Réal del Sarte Coat of Arms
After Maxime RÉAL del SARTE, the family has made use of the coat of arms of the House of Philippy Bucelly d'Estrées, Barons d'Estrées. The Réal del Sarte family are descendants of Gabrielle Constance (April 14, 1782 -November 20, 1854) who was the daughter of Albert Philippy de Bucelly du Tronquoy, baron d' Estrées (1745-1808) and Catherine GEORGIA (1753-1810). She married the musician and professor at the Royal Music School of France, Martin-Joseph ADRIEN.
